The ground floor is set in the Edwardian period with Arts and Crafts inspired decor of patterned wallpapers, decorative glass, wood panelling and an elaborate inglenook fireplace. Some of the items on display are from Albert and Kitty Bantock's collection, including an exquisite japanned cabinet and carved ivory chess set.

The first floor features a number of interactive exhibitions in which to explore local history. In particular, locally made Enamels, Steel Jewellery and Japanned ware are on display.

Temporary exhibitions take place all year round offering displays in a wide range of subjects.
